Hi Randy,

Thanks for using Restlet. Have you run or actively contributed to an open
source project yourself?

Speaking for Noelios, the company behind this project, we replied to thousands
of messages in this forum since 2005 (for free) and keep doing so based on a
regular basis when time is available. We also benefit from help from other
users from the community and would love to have more help in this list, in
documentation contribution or in bug fixes.

We also provide a free user guide (more than 250 pages) edited collaboratively
via http://wiki.restlet.org/ in addition to the book you mention:
http://wiki.restlet.org/books/restlet_framework_-_user_guide_-_version_20--20101206-225018/publications/pdf/output/book.pdf

If you do want guaranteed replies and response time, then this list might
indeed not be the right place. Some customers are happy to fund us to
developing new features or to purchase support plans, but you are not obliged
to:
http://www.restlet.org/community/professional

Best regards,
Jerome

Objet : is there a place for newbies to ask questions

Hello,
I there somewhere that i am missing that newbies can answer questions?
It appears that this forum is not the correct place. There is a lot of
unanswered questions.
I have bought the book but it appears that the only option at this point is to
purchase the support from the guys that own this software
