A couple of other notes: (1) A simple client that uses the built in Apache HttpClient library instead of the restlet library works just fine.
(2) When the restlet client is launched, there is a long pause, then it times out with the message box: "The application MyApp (process mypackage.restlet) has stopped unexpectedly.
