Note that in general the power supply will only give you a worst case 
idea of the power consumption.  I doubt that the power approaches 
anything like 10 watts, but the only way to know for sure is to measure 
it (both under load and idle). Not that I'm suggesting the old kit is a 
good solution...

Lots of antennas etc at www.wlanparts.com and www.netgate.com, amongst 
others. Its rarely a bad idea to have a directional antenna, but for 
that sort of distance you likely won't need a directional at all, 
depending on what interference/other AP traffic you're likely to have.
