Howdy all, I have a pro Tascam cassette deck that has a remote control interface. I want to reverse-engineer it and build a pathway to control it. While preparing for my new project tonight, I was looking through some technical documentation and discovered through my manual that my deck has a sister model with a serial interface:

I took some photos and put them here: http://imgur.com/a/cAg9t Does anyone know of any visual cues I could use when looking for this interface? Serial often uses a DB9 connector, so this would probably mean I'm looking for a PCB with a disconnected 9-wire connector, correct? If this fails, I will fall to my backup plan of just using the 2.5MM remote jack, but using a null-modem cable over serial would probably be ideal for prototyping purposes, I would think.
