Hi all, I was just mentioning my idea of a cleanup day to the IRC channel and figured I'd bring the list into the discussion.
My idea is to have a day (I say in April because it's neither too hot nor too cold) where we get the community together to clean up the trash from the surrounding property outside the space, specifically the river. The outside looks like a dump and we would be doing ourselves a favor from a presentational standpoint if the public saw the outside of our building to be clean and tidy. We need to make it as fun and inviting as possible. Live music, barbecue + other food are a must. Maybe prizes for those who help the most. Maybe invite the press. Some things to talk about: 1. We need the landlord's permission. 2. Liability for helpers 3. Sourcing equipment (large dumpster, hundreds of large trash bags, gloves, possibly boots) I would think gsvolt would have some great ideas as far as promotion, etc., but I open the floor to the rest of you.
