At a majority of the places that I've worked at it has been the rule that
you spend the last 15 minutes of your shift cleaning up the place before
you leave.

\¥/ Howdy hakkers!
\¥/
\¥/ When I entered the space today I was greeted with a sight I wasn't all
\¥/ that
\¥/ happy to see. The trash was full, there wasn't a single surface where I
\¥/ could work without first having to clean up someone else's things, the
\¥/ were
\¥/ 4 half empty pop cans and water bottles that needed cleaning up and
\¥/ apparently we got a tivo because the boxes and machine itself are all
over
\¥/ the main space floor.
\¥/
\¥/ That's NOT an excellent sight and this is NOT being excellent to others.
\¥/
\¥/ Please, if you are leaving the space double check the areas where you
were
\¥/ working and make sure they are clean. Don't trust others to put away your
\¥/ things and handle them with the same care you do. Andrew saw me stack a
\¥/ heavy power supply on top of a motherboard the other day and corrected
me.
\¥/ Do you want me breaking your precious motherboard because I am
ignorant to
\¥/ how fragile it is?
\¥/
\¥/ If you have open hours, it is your job to empty the trash at the end of
\¥/ your shift. We had this specific talk at a meeting about a month ago.
It's
\¥/ not cool that I have to bring this up again so soon.
\¥/
\¥/ Treat the place with respect guys. We all pay to support the space. We
all
\¥/ can take the 3 minutes it would take each of us to pick up after
\¥/ ourselves.
\¥/
\¥/ TL;DR: CLEAN UP YOUR THINGS AT SYN/HAK!!!!!
\¥/
\¥/ Thanks everyone!
