I can show you a video of a cigarette rolling machine that could pump out 200 cigaretts in 4 minutes. I wrote the C code that controlled the serial communication boards that controlled the stepper motors. Optimized the crap out of it with some fancy C++ tricks to the point where the firmware was the bottleneck. So I started to rewrite that and saw even bigger speed improvements. Then we got sued out of existance and I moved to Collabora. I am very familiar with precise tolerances, high speeds, and moving things around that can potentially dismember people who purposely disable safety interlocks.
