>From emails past, here's a list of things to discuss with AGBA tonight: I have a few paper copies of this too.
G: What I hope will be discussed during this meeting - ideally within 1 hour: - Specific things synhak desires in a makespace (I encourage members to bring their independent lists) - Features that already exist at the location that AGBA is prospecting for SYN/HAK - Any gaps from the two above - Rent/Cost of the space currently - AGBA's barter offer in lieu of rent Torrie: Things we need: * Running water * 110v and 220v * Incredibly close to public transit * 24/7 access for members with tokens * Lots of power outlets. Lots of them. * Ability to modify the walls to hang shelves, etc * Within the city limits of Akron * At least one very large and uninterrupted open space * Heating * Ventilation for fumes * Be able to hang stuff from the ceiling such as a projector and screen * Access to the electrical fusebox Things that would be excellent to have: * Be downtown * Street signage * Windows or a way to add some windows * Be able to construct walls to partition the space * Roof access Andy: * 3 phase power * AC, or the ability to install our own AC unit * No noise ordinance (ability to run noisey machine 24/7) Additionally, I'm not super excited about any location that is far at all off the beaten path. If I can't ride my bike right into the space, that'd be very disappointing for myself and others. The space's location is just as important as the space itself. We're not some online business that doesn't need a storefront. We need to be exceptionally inviting to the general public. Chris: * Expandability is a must. * off-street parking * loading dock or garage door is crucial. No way in hell we are getting certain items through a 3' door. * preinstalled lighting would be great but not necessary. * needs to be in an area where music at 2am isn't going to be a problem (can't be located immediately adjacent to apartments) * being located higher up in the city elevation-wise would be nice for starting a ham club On Wed, Oct 30, 2013 at 1:38 PM, Torrie Fischer <[email protected]>wrote: > Would someone be able to open up the space tonight at 5:30p in time for > code > for summit county for an hour or two so that I can go along? > > On Wednesday, October 30, 2013 12:51:00 AM Chris Egeland wrote: > > Everyone, > > > > This is a reminder that tomorrow is our meeting with Anthony Margida and > > Terry Martell of Akron Global Business Accelerator at 6PM.
