This suggestion of volunteering in exchange for dues comes up sometimes. My 
rebuttal is that one is permitted to be "As member as you want to be". If 
you're already helping to pay our bills, thats about as much as I can ask. You 
shouldn't need to work more in exchange for being allowed to help us out 
fiscally.

I'm not saying its a bad idea, but I don't think the idea is a match with our 
culture of do-ocracy.
