I caution you not to be so emotiocentric. If we are to believe Lou Reed
that "Love is Chemical," then all bets are off. After all, Dr. Reed has
several degrees and I quote, "I have a B.A. in dope. And a Ph.D. in
soul." Sounds qualified to me.
So instead of bashing our synthomechanical brethern, I propose we begin
modeling neurochemical receptors with our arduinos and become a force
for excellence.

PS - Yes, I did make up the words emotiocentric and synthomechanical.

I caution you to not be so anthropocentric. Robots can feel pain.
Pressure, strain and temperature sensors can easily be added and
the robot can be programmed to avoid situations that overstimulate
those sensors. Classic definition of pain.
