Howdy, hakkers! The day is here, and SYNHAK is moving today, Saturday the 18th, 2014!
We will be orchestrating a move of most of our equipment, tools, workspaces, and everything else we can grab from our location at 21 W. North st to our new downtown location at 48 S. Summit st. We will begin with organizing the decomposition and packing up of things at 21 W. North at 10:00 AM. At the same time, a smaller number of volunteers are requested to help finish cleaning up and preparing the new space for the arrival and unloading of SYNHAK. By 12:00 PM, we will begin moving things to the new space and unloading wherever it fits. Unpacking will happen over the next few days as everyone begins to get a better feel for the bigger space and where things might best fit in. We are growing from 1.7k sqft to over 4k, so it isn't really feasible to have a defined floorplan everyone can agree on for day one. As with every hackerspace, the whole layout will be continuously changing for months and even years into the future, so best not get too attached to where things go. :) This should be a very exciting day.
