I had a chance to get the jukebox up and running tonight. It is currently hooked up to the speakers and operating.
I am curious, is there any intent to standardize the system itself and possibly install a few different pieces of software for the audio selection? I would bet that multiple front end user interfaces could be setup to interact with One primary music server. Also, running the interface as a user other then root is most likely in best interest. I also have some plans for incorporating the preexisting auxiliary buttons into the player with some possible additions. One idea mentioned was an LCD to give info as to what song was currently playing. Along this line I also had thoughts of purposing one of the touch screen terminals in the basement, to a HUD for its control. However I heard word that this was intended to be headless specifically.
