Update: Akron Civic Hackathon Knight Foundation has authorized a payment to SYNHAK for the Akron Civic Hackathon event through Akron Community Foundation.
Amount they are sponsoring for this is $5K based on the event's budget for about 25-30 people attendance. Treasurer/Others at the space: Please stand by for mail or some sort of communication from Akron Community Foundation regarding the same; most likely a check. I will need access to funds close to the time, thought I'd send out a note to everyone regarding this to make payments for food, venue etc. I still need help with: - RSVPs - for accurate head counts - Connecting with governmental managers that have outstanding techy problems (share my cell with anyone and everyone you know that would fit this description, so I can commit their problems in the event: up until 5/31) Update: Meetup.com/synhak Alex Kot has been made Event Organizer on meetup. Alex, please test event scheduling, let me know if it worked or not. Anyone else want to schedule events on meetup.com/synhak, please reply back and I'll make your account an event scheduler on meetup for RSVPs as well. Prerequisite for this is that you are already a member of meetup.com/synhak I like the RSVPs on meetup _a lot_ Also like the fact that I don't have to remember dates in the past and can look them up a future date. Update: Knight in Akron trip (Akron Tech Breakfast) Knight Foundation interim director Meredith plans to attend Akron Tech Breakfast 5/20 at 7am at Akron Family Restaurant. I thought I'd share this fact. Meetup details: http://www.meetup.com/akroncantonweb/events/180215622/ At this time, I am not sure when Meredith will be able to witness SYNHAK in person - either after the tech breakfast, or as part of DowntownAkron Partnership's tour of Art Spaces between 3-6pm on 5/20. I did want to let everyone know about the possibility of that as well in advance. The support I'm getting for the Akron Civic Hackathon is astounding. Equally astounding is the fact that Meredith is willing to check SYNHAK out during her official visit! If it lands up being that after 3pm on 5/20 is when she has availability, and I can't make it in person, will let you all know as we'll have to keep the space open briefly for a tour.
