Thanks Teddy. To answer your question, no it doesnt need to be extensive UML
diagram but I definitely want to have a diagram like maybe in visio which
would help my team to understand the flow of the application. Right now we
have this big application and everytime there is a bug or customization, I
have to dig into code to understand what the programmer was trying to do. A
good diagram may help to understand this much better I think especially when
multiple pages are included/called.

Ajas,
UML is a tried and true method for software engineering. Though, do you
need to have an extensive UML diagram to show flow?
You could definitely argue to have a less structured flow diagram using
something like Visio to appeal to less technological audiences.
I find that prototyping though to be the most effective. This is where
you you create a pure HTML environment where the target audience can real
time click pages and see what is on each page. The functionality of the
pages would not be there, but a synopsis and general wireframe would be.
I like using a framework like Model-Glue for this as it provides easy
scaffolding and prototype creation as you don't have to create that much
code to show place holders.

Hi,
I wanted to come up with a diagram for our web appliation written in
CF and I was wondering what other people use for this.... All we have is cfm
pages. I thought of UML but then is it appropriate to use it for web
application? Anyone has experience doing diagrams explaining flow of
application?
