I have a situation where we are moving LIVE servers and we cannot connect to
some DCOM objects that have been working fine on the other servers for a
while. We have several different environments (DEV/STAGING/LIVE) that are
virtual servers on mixture of Win2000 or Win2003 using CFMX 6.1 or CFMX7.
The process works on Win2000/CFMX6.1, Win2000/CFMX7 and Win2003/CFMX7
combinations except this one slice that is called by the Hosts file
redirect.
I have gone through our Application.cfm settings and all settings in the CF
Admin and they all seem to be the same except for the actual URL that is
being called. Right now we are using our Hosts file to direct the URL to
the new instance internally for testing. We are using CFCs to instantiate
the DCOM objects and call the methods to return results. We have a test
script that can be run to test the DCOM to troubleshoot any issues. On the
offending server, the error message we receive is:
101 | Could Not Connect to COM Object at 192.168.100.201 {An exception
occurred when instantiating a Com object.}
The "101" is a error code we added and the rest is directly from the DCOM
call. Anyone run into this issue before or have any suggestions why this
might be happening?
