John,
I am a recruiter from California. I see the emails that come through here and a lot of you have phone numbers on your signatures. I don't like swiping candidates through here all that much. Unless, I find your resume on the internet first, I will not contact you from here. Now.with that being said, if anyone wants to move west, I have a CF job that's paying a generous relo package as well as very competitive salaries. So..I'm shutting up now..I rarely chime in and thought I'd let you know how they may be getting phone numbers. I want to know exactly how she got your contact information. I doubt it came from ACFUG since we don't have people's phone numbers, but I'm curious now how this is happening. She called me with a phone number starting with a 0 too. I talked with her, but told her I was not interested, but....the job she is referring to is with AT & T because I got this posting from 3 or 4 other recruiters here in atlanta. She sent me a more complete job description from the email she already had for me, which was from Dice. I am always apprehensive when I get foreign calls too. At least it doesn't seem to be a widespread problem. Just keep your gaurd up when a potential employer contacts you out of the blue or contacts you personally, "period."
