Apple has added a nice freebie to Safari 3.1 for web developers called the Web Inspector (at least I believe it's new -- I hadn't noticed it before now). The tool can be accessed under the "Develop" menu (enabled under the Advanced Preferences), as well as by right-clicking an element on a page and choosing "Inspect Element". This brings some of the page inspection functionality of Firebug to Safari. I've grabbed a few screenshots of the Web Inspector in action and posted them at... http://the-fords.smugmug.com/gallery/4569604_xsmyA#269347761
Also, for those of us who hate links open in new browser windows, Safari 3.1has a new hidden preference for running in single-pane mode where new windows open in tabs (I grew really use to this with Firefox and it bugged me in Safari until now). Here's an article with details on how to enable/disable the feature... http://www.tuaw.com/2008/03/21/terminal-tip-safari-3-1-brings-true-one-window-mode/ Kevin ------------------------------------------------------------- Annual Sponsor FigLeaf Software - http://www.figleaf.com To unsubscribe from this list, manage your profile @ http://www.acfug.org?fa=login.edituserform For more info, see http://www.acfug.org/mailinglists Archive @ http://www.mail-archive.com/discussion%40acfug.org/ List hosted by http://www.fusionlink.com -------------------------------------------------------------
