I've usually accepted the default installation path.

There should be no problems arising from conflicts - I ran both 2 and
3 together for several months back during beta.

Once you have 3 installed you can always choose to compile against the
2 sdk (on a project by project basis) so the old 2 installation
becomes superfluous.
