Max, I am not sure this is a good medium for discussing rates for consultants. Most consultants have either a written or verbal agreement with their consulting firms that discourage the discussing of their rates.
You may want to target technologists who have been a part of the hiring process or IT Managers. Once you have been in contact with them, it would be a good conversation to take offline. Some may disagree with this, but it is one of those things that professionals typically do not openly discuss. Perhaps, I am too formal about this compared to others. Also, there used to be web sites that I cannot remember that had the average salary or contract rate based upon industry and experience. The only issue that I had with those sites as they were extremely generalized and the web sites did not have the most up to date technology skill listings.
