I am wondering how the failto attribute of <cfmail> works. My understanding is that this is an address intended to receive NDR's that may be generated by a recipient's mail server should something be wrong with the mail attempt. If this is true, does this also mean that the designee would only receive a failure notice if the recipient's mail server generated one? Is it based on ColdFusion detecting some error code during transmission? Or, is there some other behavior that should be expected? Does anyone know of a definitive way to test this behavior?
