With this CLOB data I would think this would be a bit easier on the parsers
to do..

Is this a large amount of data we're talking about? If so, I wouldn't put it
in as a label.
 
But, that's besides the point of your question, have you tried the
unescape() function to url decode the data?

That is correct .... I am using the URLEncodedFormat() function in
ColdFusion to encrypt my XML string.

Ex:  <summary="#URLEncodedFormat(qRead.SUMMARY)#">

Has anyone been able to successfully display a database CLOB object,
containing special characters, in a Flex application?

I have tried to encrypt the CLOB field and pass it as an XML document for
FLEX.  However, once the XML has been successfully encrypted I have not
found a way for FLEX to decrypt or decode the element. 

HELP!!
