I generally call generic data fetch stuff on creationComplete - then in
the result handler function enable miscellaneous components:

private function fetchInfoResult(event:ResultEvent):void{
    mainInfoForm.enabled = true;
}

Subject: [AFFUG Discuss] Data Services Question and Job

Anyone have an elegant way of determining when a data transfer is
complete after a fill call. Consider that there maybe multiple data
services involved with the data transfer.

Anyway, Figured someone has probably dealt with this. I have a large
amount of data that has to be present before the application preforms
properly, I want to disable a user from accessing widgits until the data
transfer is complete.

Thanks all,
Bryan
