This is cool, but why add more weight to the client when PDF generation has been (easily) possible for years with every server side language?
If PDF generation requires no server side language, I guess that's one compelling reason to use Alive PDF. Right now, in a statistical dashboard project, I'm sending base 64 encoded packets to PHP, decoding them, writing an image (chart) to a file, generating a PDF with FPDF http://www.fpdf.org/ and inserting the image. The encoding takes about three seconds, which is a long time for the user to wait. The rest is lightning fast. I'll be benchmarking my current PDF generation with Alive PDF when it's released. I guess that'll determine whether I use client-side PDF generation or stick with my old ways. Don't get me wrong -- I'm not knocking this!
