Randall, I think most would agree that CF issues should instead be taken up
on the CF group's discussion list
(http://www.acfug.org/index.cfm?fa=mailinglists.info). :-)

But in case this is the only CF question you'd ever need to ask :-) (meaning
you don't want otherwise to join the CF list), this simply sounds like a
problem in the configuration of either the CF Admin or DW. Which one is new
for you? CF8 or DW CS3? In other words, which combination was working last?

The connection to CF from DW is via something called RDS. You need to enable
it and set a password on the CF Admin (on the Security>RDS page), and then
you need to configure your DW site to use it, pointing to the correct
sitename, port, and RDS password (no username needed, unless using CF8's new
separate RDS username that an Admin could configure.)

You should be able to find ample documentation of this in both the DW and CF
user guides. I'll say that if you're stuck, I know of a service where you
can get a CF technician to walk you through solving such a thing over the
web and phone for just $2/minute: http://www.carehart.org/askcharlie/ :-)

Subject: [AFFUG Discuss] Coldfusion 8 issues

If anyone can help me I would appreciate it:

I am running Coldfusion 8 on MacOSX with Apache/MySQL. I am trying to access
the defined datasources setup in Coldfusion 8 through Dreamweaver CS3. None
show up in the datasource list in Dreamweaver. I have done this numerious
times with older versions of Coldfusion and Dreamweaver with no problems.

Has anyone experience this? Suggestions?

Thanks
