How to Integrate Flex with J2EE and .NET Frameworks
By Darrell Ross, Robin Ghosh and Dale Bronk of Enablus
If you love Flex for the ease in which you can create engaging user
experiences, you probably see opportunities to redesign the UI for
applications that you, or your clients, use everyday.
However, redesigning a UI is one thing, integrating it with an
existing
back-end application architecture is another. In many cases, you
will need to integrate with an existing J2EE or .NET framework.
Come to the AFFUG meeting on 10/17 to learn about:
- Overview of server-side frameworks - what do they do that
Cairngorm doesn't already cover?
- How Flex integrates with .NET and common J2EE frameworks, like
Spring and Struts.
- What works/doesn't work with the common messaging methods
(HTTPRequest, web service, remote object calls).
- Examples of Flex apps using J2EE and .NET back-ends.
Demo Ecommerce and Enrollment Applications by DP
Darin Kohles of Digital Positions
Digital Positions has a couple of recently released applications
that they will be showing during the second half of the meeting.
One is a Ecommerce application and the other is an Enrollment
system with strict validation. As time and questions permit, Darin
will drive into the code to show how various operations were achieved.
