Donna
Hang in there and don't give up, you will fall in love with flex once you get
going with it
It becomes addictive.

I am not familiar with that particular book and I know there are numerous flex
books coming out lately.
I had only bought one flex book "Adobe Flex 2 Training from the Source".
If you have this one I would recommend going through it first.
It covers all the basics all the way through some more advanced topics.

Email me off list and maybe we can hookup sometime to help get you going.
Note that I am no expert by any means, but helping others also helps me to be
more productive as well.

I actually found it easier to get a handle of by converting existing CF
applications.

Use the list for help.
Attend the monthly meetings and don't be afraid to ask questions.
Be sure to attend the January meeting as Ben Forta will be presenting.

I am SOOO new to Flex.  I am following through a couple of books I bought, and one of them is Flex 2.0 with Actionscript 3.0 book by Charles E. Brown.  In this book he has a couple of things he has done to his app, but there is no info on them at all!  For example, he has a login form on his CD, but it is incomplete, not discussed in the book, and no one in forums seems to know how to hook it up.  My coworkers and myself are at a loss as how all the parts work together.  It uses ColdFusion on the backend.  Could anyone here help?  I really want to learn Flex, but it is frustrating when there is no one to ask for help and books can only do so much.

Thanks
