COLDFUSION/FLEX DEVELOPER
 
We are seeking a dynamic contractor to participate in a new application 
development project that will utilize the Unified development Process (UP), 
ColdFusion/Flex 2, Java, and an Oracle database.  This engagement is expected 
to begin in February 2008 and run through July 12, 2008.  The engagement may be 
extended pending changes in business requirements. .  The level of work is 
considered advanced and the contractors must be able to work independently. 
These individuals will work with others to develop use cases and other types of 
required documentation, code in ColdFusion/Flex 2 or Java, unit test, debug, 
and participate in peer reviews
1. Participates on or may lead development teams in analyzing technical 
requirements of proposed automated systems.  Responsible for leading multiple 
development initiatives.  Researches and recommends software development and/or 
acquisition to solve complex business problems.  Evaluates software tools and 
techniques and provides in-depth technical expertise to the project development 
teams in selecting the most appropriate forms of technology that are available 
and practical. Manages the integration and implementation of new technology.  

2.  Designs, prototypes, develops and implements Internet/intranet based 
application software that meets the customer's business requirements

3. Plans and develops application system prototypes with the use of various 
software tools to determine the feasibility and cost effectiveness of 
alternative approaches to development efforts.

4.  Provides subject matter expertise in developing technical standards and 
establishing strategic direction for software development.

5. Troubleshoots highly technical and complex problems.  Reviews and reads 
periodicals, attends classes and seminars, and recommends training for project 
development teams as deemed necessary. 

6. Leads development teams in the evaluation, selection, and installation of 
software purchased from vendors that will be used for application development 
projects. Develops standards, procedures, and guidelines to support project 
development teams. 

7.  Provides consultation, mentoring, and training to other staff on 
Internet/intranet technologies.  

8. Builds and maintains knowledge of their customer's business including 
business rules, operational procedures, how the business is funded, and how the 
business function fits into the mission of the Bank as a whole. 

This is not necessarily an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, 
performance standards or requirements, efforts, skills or working conditions 
associated with the job. While this is intended to be an accurate reflection of 
the current job, management reserves the right to revise the job or to require 
that other or different tasks be performed when circumstances change (e.g. 
emergencies, rush jobs, change in workload or technological developments).
 
The contractor must have heavy experience with modular programming using 
ColdFusion/Flex2, and Oracle stored procedures using PL/SQL.  Experience with 
Subversion, Toad, Control-M and QTP is desirable.  Experience with Java is a 
bonus.  If the contractor has Java skills, they may be asked to function in an 
advisory role to help other team members refine their Java coding skills.  The 
position requires experience in developing with an Oracle database.  Experience 
in working in a virtualized environment using VMWare/Windows and VMWare/Linux 
is preferred.  The contractor will need to have the ability to work 
independently, as well as with a diverse project team, and also have the 
ability to work across organizational boundaries with other technicians and end 
users.
