Leif, I hear you, missed the past meeting or two myself. I've been using
these extensions daily for the past 10 months or so. The source is set up
so that the compiled swc can be dropped into a current project without
disruption, it has the current Cairngorm in it with all paths preserved.
So, you can then start adding in use of the extensions.

The #1 extra I use the most and that we discussed last night is the callback
support. A view can create a event, a UMEvent which extends CairngormEvent,
add callback information to the event in the form of a Callback class which
is just a responder and dispatch it. The extensions add a Command class
that will call a notifyCallers() in the result and fault handlers, this
method calls whatever Callback was passed in the event. Voila! Your view
can now get easy notifications of command completions. Callbacks.result
passes the ResultEvent, so your view gets the data direct. This bit alone
is a major time saver to me.
