My problem:

In figure2 the confirmation dialog that appears after action occurs from figure 1 cannot close because there is no event that tells it to close. I can't dispatch an event to tell the dialog to close because the place where I want to dispatch an event is from a actionscript class. From what I have read actionscript classes cannot dispatch gui events because it is not on the "gui stack". So I can't figure out a way to tell the confirmation dialog to close from the actionscript class. Anybody know of a good way to do this?

Shooting from the hip, here, but if you extend MovieClip rather than Object doesn't that afford you the ability to dispatch events?
