We are looking for a tester/business analyst on contract-to-hire who will specify, test, and document our products. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. The products of Seldon Systems are web-based Java applications that increasingly use Adobe Flex technology. As part of the team at Seldon System, this tester / business analyst will have the following tasks: * Specifying software functionality. Specifications take many forms, such as use cases, UI mockups, Wiki pages, or issues in a bug tracking system. Some of these specifications are shaped in collaborate with partners and key customers, but all need to be communicated with the internal stakeholders (product manager, developers, other testers); The tester/business analyst leads both of these activities. * Writing test cases. Test cases either specify software functionality or complement it with test instructions. Tester/business analyst will constantly add and extend our test cases. * Testing software. For reach release, the tester/business analyst will test the new functionality, verify fixed issue and perform a regression test. This is a strictly manual process for now, but will be partially automated in the future, at which point the tester/business analyst will maintain the automated test cases and work with the developers (if necessary) on implementing them. * Coordinating testing and test case writing. Seldon System has one part-time employee working on test cases and testing and one full-time employee testing at times. The tester/business analyst will coordinate the work of this team. * Documenting software. The software products are documented in a variety of ways, such as manuals, guides, and "What's new" articles. The tester/business analyst will update and create this documentation. The candidate must possess at least three years of experience of testing web-based applications. The following additional skills are a plus: automated testing of web-based applications, testing of Adobe Flex applications.
