Looking for ideas here... I have a touchscreen kiosk application that requires printing by sometimes very inexperienced users. The problem is that AIR's PrintJob.start() requires the user to confirm "Print" on an OS level print dialog each time it prints. A few of reasons this is a problem in my case. Apologies if I am over explaining a bit here, but I wanted to be clear *why* I am looking for this.
1) The extra step slows down what needs to be a very streamlined and quick process. 2) The OS level print screen does not match the look and feel of the rest of the (full screen) application. 3) The buttons on the print dialog is smaller then I'd like for the UI to be effective. Giuant buttons are great on a touch screen kiosk based application. 4) Occasionally the print confirmation gets behind the AIR application, confusing the user and making it impossible to interact with the AIR application. ALT+TAB brings the dialog screen back, but that's not something I expect users to know or even learn. I've investigated a few ways to automatically confirm the print dialog, but these all require third party tools and I would very much prefer to find something that can "just work" within AIR. I don't want to create a buncha dependencies for this app. That serves to undermine the advantage of an easily deployable AIR application.
