Flex / J2EE Developer Location: Cary, NC Duration: 6 Months Description/Required Skills: - Junior developer - Global Prime Finance IT, Synthetic Equity Application Developer. - In addition to the responsibilities on the following pages, this individual will be a developer responsible for the delivery of projects for Synthetic Equities (SE) in connection with the Global Prime Finance (GPF) business. - The candidate will work with the onshore and offshore based team to deliver a high profile Front Office Equity Swap product. - Distributed information delivery systems, preferably in a Java/Unix environment with a Sybase database persistence layer using WebLogic. - Developing robust and innovative Front End GUI in Flex using Blaze DS middle-tier. - Developing service oriented architectures and web services, including XML, SOAP and J2EE. - Messaging and asynchronous programming models in distributed systems, including JMS implementations and in-memory data grids. - Design and performance turning of Sybase ASE database. - Development of Oracle Coherence. - Unix and Perl. - Additionally: Excel, VBA, Unix and Perl. - 3-5 years of software development experience using one of the proven technologies. - Good analytical skills. - Good English language skills. - Ability to work in virtual teams and in matrix structures. - Excellent team worker. - Ability to work in fast paced environment. Software Development: Ideal candidate will focus on the day-to-day efforts to drive the actual coding development of a solution to meet defined specification, including: - Identify dependencies between software product components, between technical components (such as database tables and master data files), and between applications and interfaces. - Assess and identify mitigation for risks including those related to high level design, integration, quality of data. - Contribute to problem and root cause analysis, including impact on production. - Manage maintenance of applications, performing technical change requests scheduled according to the Release Management process. - Measure and analyze code quality and fix defects. - Collaborate with functional analyst and technical specialist.
