Here are a few of the links for tools I mentioned at last night's meeting: *Bootstrap* - http://twitter.github.com/bootstrap/ This is a great default prototyping CSS skin for HTML apps. I would equate this to the default Flex Halo or Spark skins. To be clear, this project doesn't contain any of the *functionality* of Flex components, but it's a great start for *skinning* an HTML/CSS app if you aren't much of a graphic designer (which I am also not) or a CSS guru (which I also am not).
*Titanium* - http://www.appcelerator.com/products/titanium-cross-platform-application-development/ This toolset / framework using HTML/CSS/JS to write applications. It competes with Phone Gap, which Adobe recently acquired. It's big advantages over Phone Gap are (1) Titanium comes with a suite of prebuilt widgets (like Flex), (2) Titanium has a large number of APIs for access to native device functionality (like AIR), and (3) Titanium runs on the Desktop as well as mobile (like Flex/AIR). The primary advantage I've seen in Phone Gap is that it supports more mobile platforms than Titanium. These are both project I'd keep an eye on and spend a few minutes reading up on. I'm not recommending jumping ship on Flex by any means, this is simply a recommendation to learn about all of your technology options so that you can make an informed choice when the time comes. -Cameron -- Cameron Childress -- p: 678.637.5072 im: cameroncf facebook <http://www.facebook.com/cameroncf> | twitter<http://twitter.com/cameronc> | google+ <https://profiles.google.com/u/0/117829379451708140985>
