How about setting a Flex boolean, blnLoggedIn = true inside the first Flex app when logged in successfully, write the blnLoggedIn to a flash cookie, using Flex's ability to leverage a SharedObject. Then the 2nd Flex app could read that SharedObject to determine if it exists (if not or if set to false, deny access).
