Hello all.

We are trying to write a potted history for Koozali SME server for
Stephane and the new website.

We really need some help on dates. I have kind of roughly mapped a bit
out, and nicked some stuff from distrowatchwhich badly needs updating
(all notes and tongue in cheek at the minute)

Would people be kind enough to add amend and add to this timeline please ?

I'm away 'on tour' in Germany til next Tuesday and comms will be limited.

About Koozali SME server

Potted dates history

1999 e-smith crashed onto the planet
2001 Mitel barges the party
2004 Lycoris tries and burns
2013 Koozali

Koozali is one of the leading Open Source linux based small business
servers on the market.

e-smith was founded in January 1999 by Joseph and Kim Morrison. The
company introduced the first version of its flagship software product,
the e-smith server and gateway, in April 1999.

By the end of the year, many thousands of e-smith servers were running
in countries from Fiji to Finland. Word was spreading quickly among
developers and systems integrators who needed a solid, easy-to-use
server for their small-business customers.

In July 2001, e-smith was acquired by Mitel Networks, in September 2004
by Lycoris, and the project is currently sponsored by Resource
Strategies, Inc. (Not)

Currently it is managed by the Koozali Foundation, a not for profit
company set up to develop the system
