Hi, I just realised I could (I don't know how, yet, but the possibility is here: suggestions welcome!) use the Ben as a "play along system". Let me explain:
I recently started playing guitar, and our teacher suggested us to use Transcribe! (a shareware mac application) for playing along the songs we were learning, because it feels somewhat better than a plain metronome (currently the song is Romeo and Juliet, Dire Straits). We have to use Transcribe! because it lets us change the key in which the song is being played (and then Mark Knopfler sounds like a smurf, the original is in F and we play in G). I guess there should be some command line Linux mp3 (or whatever other nice format, this is not the point) player that lets you adjust pitch & tempo of what you are hearing, and then the Nano can be quite useful for this. On the other hand, if there is none, a command line (or SDL) metronome & guitar tuner can be written, making this a complete system. If the three uses can be complemented the Nano then should be pretty useful for amateur instrument players!
