Hi,

I also did some benchmarking for the gForth interpreter when I ported
the package. The results are part of the Benchres file from gForth CVS.

 4.25 5.10 2.82 4.84 0.7.0-20100807--dynamic; Ingenic XBurst Jz4720
336MHz; gcc-4.3.3 (OpenWrt-xburst Backfire 10.03)

The first 4 numbers are execution times for 4 small benchmarks. For
comparison, some numbers for other systems:

 1.760 2.120 1.016 2.104 0.7.0-20100807; VIA C7 800MHz; gcc-4.3.2 (Debian
4.3.2-1.1)
 0.264 0.380 0.116 0.432 0.7.0; K8 2.2Ghz (Athlon 64 X2 4400+); gcc-3.3.6
(Debian 1:3.3.6-15)
 0.160 0.236 0.072 0.248 0.7.0; Core 2 3GHz (Xeon 5160); gcc-3.4.6 (Debian
3.4.6-5)

Cycle for cycle the Xburst does about as well as a VIA C7 (as long as
the benchmarks fits in the i-cache). So looks pretty good to me.

cheers,

David
