Or just "reset". You may need ctrl-a ctrl-k first to clear any characters on the (invisible) line. I need to do this when aborting a password entry (so character echo is switched off) or displaying binary data with cat, somehow messing up the character set. > (These aren't Ben-specific.) reset isn't, either.
