I will try to play with settings. But this issue is visible only on images
fit to screen size. Bigger sizes are OK.

It is NOT slow. Honestly, I don't see any problems with speed. Yes,
thumbnail 
generation takes some time but things are moving on the screen so it looks
like it is a fast process ;-)
