I use my NanoNote in a very similar way: HNB for notes/ideas, todo.sh (www.todotxt.com) for tasks, Remind as a calendar (ang GMU for music, of course). But I also use the SC spreasheet to track and analyse my expences, the qc and the Octave as calculators, and the SnowNews for reading RSS news (I usually download whem when on-line for later offline reading).
The main problem probably is that most of these programs are ideal for unix geeks but they look too strange to "average users". In fact, my NanoNote fully replaced all my previous pocket computers (the Freerunner phone + the Nokia N800 tablet). Fortunately, I don't need wifi access too often (the Spectec card + mutt + links is a good solution for infrequent use). The only thing that I really miss is a some kind of GPS receiver.
