drivers/i2c/busses/i2c-gpio.c to the rescue :-) With regard to space in the Ben, while it lacks the generous pockets of "embedded air" the Openmoko phones featured, there is a bit of room for something thin (1.5-2.7 mm) in the front area under the PCB, where I put the counterweight. Another place where one could make room is the speaker.
