The originals of those videos were encoded at 1920x1080 pixels, quite high, and LunaVorax helped us scale it down for the embedded view yesterday because he also had trouble viewing those videos on his machine. I'm not sure whether you tried before or after that improvement, maybe you can try again now? Second option is to download the .ogv Ogg Videos and watch them locally, there's a lower-res and higher-res version now. The download links are right under the video in the caption.
