I’d love to help tracking the problem down, but I really don’t have much
time to spare. Maybe in a couple of months I will be able to dedicate
some development time to the Ben; I also have a couple interesting ideas
about a derived device I’d like to build.

Still, I figured giving my opinion would not hurt. Not having Python in
the image would be a serious regression, and I hope somebody with the
needed time and skills will be able to prevent that from happening.
