Thanks you guys, it looks like I just had one battery that was "super
hungry". All my other spares have charged up in under 5 hours. My Solar
setup can charge both my laptops, so I know it has enough power. It's a
"wall socket" that is it takes normal 3 prong adapters and puts out 115
V which of course gets converted by whatever adapter you have. Since the
Ben sucks the same as or less than some cell phones, it is very easy to
charge, in fact, I even have a small pocket sized solar unit that is
designed for charging cell phones that will completely charge one Ben
battery. The only disadvantage is that it takes 2 full days to charge
the unit in the sun, so it couldn't be my only unit, but it is nice to
have...

Now what makes it complex, it doesn't always do this:) Not sure

I have also noticed that the "wall-wart" usb charger and the usb
port on my Acer One netbook must put out slightly different
voltages. I can unplug from the wall-wart and into the
netbook port and the light will come on and if the Ben
is running will stay on until I press a key, but again,
not always! Who says computers are deterministic:)
Not sure this is that related, but it shows that the red led
must be understood in the "context" of the state of the Ben,
and the nature of the source.
