Not at all. If you have a uSD slot with sufficient mechanical clearance (i.e., not an internal card slot, like in the Openmoko phones) and can use the signals as GPIOs, then UBB will work there. If the uSD interface is directly connected to an MCU/SoC, its signals can almost certainly be used as GPIOs. Similarly, you can use atben in such cases as well.
