There were some complaints of people trying to unsubscribe and never
receiving the confirmation email

After investigating, we found the problem is not in this server (or any
of the other lists)

Here is what we found:

a) user has a posteo.de address  [email protected]

b) the user had at least two other addresses, [email protected],
[email protected], ...

c) the user was typing [email protected] in the unsubscribe form and never
received the confirmation email

d) but [email protected] is the address that is really subscribed

e) [email protected] appears in the headers of messages they receive

f) internally, posteo.de was swapping the addresses in the headers and
not keeping any record of the original destination [email protected].

Point (f) is the source of confusion in these cases and it would be a
challenge for any mailing list using the default mailman.  Maybe there
is some option to log the subscribed address in an extension header
