Hi list,

after some research, I've found out that the data on how most free
software projects are financed is very scarce, if not rare.  We have
data on big foundations like Mozilla and Wikimedia, but we have only
hints for "small" projects like Gimp, etc.

What do you think of preparing a survey about this?

If the project looks promising, I can ping a friend at Wikimedia
who is head of the research department, expert in building surveys
like this one.

I think the benefit for the community would be great, and I hope
it would help promoting user-backed solutions like the one we are
focused on librefunding.
