Hello,

I have done some more work to get pfSense booting from the
compactflash on "regular" pc hardware with a CF-IDE adapter,
our Hacom/Lex hardware or even from the USB flash drive,
using grub as the boot loader.

1. IBM PC-compatible hardware (CF-IDE primary master). They
should be used if you put the compactflash on the CF-IDE
adapter on the primary IDE master. I have just built but not
tested these, since I don't have the hardware here.

2. USB flash drives. We have tested them with our Hacom
Openbrick-E/Lex hardware, which have the Award bios. The bios
can be configured to boot from USB-HDD. It may work if you have
similar bios. Your milage may vary!

3. Our Hacom's OpenBrick-E family/Lex hardware. The compactflash
is put on the built-in CF slot, which is the IDE secondary master.
