Hi ...

I'm just got the "duty" to find possible solutions for a kollegium network(where alot of young people uses p2p programs) with a new router/firewall ... considering pfsense in a soekris box or maybe even a computer.

Since the primary goal is to stop p2p traffic, how well would it perform, atm we have a 16/16mbit line, witch will probebly be upgraded soon.

Read a little about the shapping options in pfsense, but can't find find info on people how need something smililar and how they configured the queues, rules etc. ( maybe max tcp connections etc). People says it easier to limit the traffic they can use, cause they will probebly just find a other way out if I tried to block all the ports the p2p program uses.

Any hints, links, etc are more than welcome ... or maybe even a config xml file, that I can try to load into a vmware test setup to look more into it. Trying to find the best solution.

best regards
Mikael Syska
