FreeBSD 6.2 (and 7.0/-Current) both run on IXP42x today. Then issue
(s) preventing pfSense from appearing on one of these platforms are:
a) there is a compiler bug, having to do with floating point, that I
haven't found the time to locate/fix. The good news (?) is that
linux doesn't have
the same problem, so its a small matter of locating the issue (deep
in the toolchain and/or SFP support in the kernel) and then fixing it.
This bug prevents many programs (such as awk) from compiling.
b) FreeBSD's packaging/build environment is aimed squarely at x86/
ia64 machines.
I am unaware of anyone else attempting to put pfSense on ixp42x, and
I have all the boards I need.

Hi Jim,
Ok, no problem. I recalled seeing messages somewhere that someone
needed
xscale board to port pfsense onto xscale.

I read in the previous threds that the development teams need some
support on XScale boards. Do you still need them?
